Tapestry was founded in 2011 by lawyers who had led a "magic circle" law employee share plans department, as well as serving as in-house counsel at Shell, managing global compliance for 100,000+ employees. The firm, therefore, brings together the expertise of a London City law firm and the practicalities of managing major global projects. Tapestry became 100% employee owned in October 2020.

Our approach has been to establish our offices in Yorkshire, with offices in Sheffield and Leeds, which offers much better value than being based in the City of London.

We offer agile working to our staff. 70% of our lawyers are women. Our goal has been to provide interesting and challenging work for our team, working for some of the best companies in the world and to provide a happy and fun place to work.

The world of executive and employee share plans is increasingly more complex and constantly changing. We provide regular training for our team and our clients, and are committed to the share plan world through active memberships of the organisations which share best practice - including the Global Equity Organisation, the National Association of Stock Plan Professionals, the European Centre for Employee Share Ownership, Share Plan Lawyers Organisation and ProShare.
