Janet co-founded Tapestry with Bob in 2011. Janet’s aim was to build a globally recognised legal adviser for the biggest and best companies in delivering their remuneration and incentives. She achieved this in an incredibly short time span. Since inception, the firm has been a tremendous success; it has grown rapidly, and gained a reputation for excellence internationally, acting for some of the biggest companies on the planet and winning many industry awards. It has been an inspiring journey. In large measure this has been due to Janet’s leadership and energy.
In keeping with Janet and Bob’s belief in the power of employee ownership, Tapestry recently made the transition to a business owned by all of its employees. This was the result of several years’ planning. As the Team is now ready to manage its own destiny, Janet has decided that it is time for her to leave the day-to-day involvement in the firm, and will look forward to keeping in touch with her many friends in our industry at some of our events going forward.
Janet remains passionate about employee ownership and all aspects of social justice and will continue her board roles at ProShare and GEO (the Global Equity Organisation). Janet has had a career-long commitment to public service both in our industry and more broadly. She co-founded GEO 21 years ago and was a founding member of ProShare as well as being on the boards of a number of charities. In anticipation of handing over the reins at Tapestry, Janet accepted appointments earlier this year to be the Deputy Chair of the RNLI (Lifeboats) and Vice Chair of Roehampton University and we know she is very much looking forward to having the time to enjoy those roles.
The Tapestry Team would like to thank Janet for her wisdom, expertise, inspiration and energy over the years. Whilst we know her example is a very hard act to follow, we have learnt a lot from her and will do our utmost to build a fitting legacy for her through Tapestry’s ongoing success.
